After a three year break from the London jazz scene singer Karen Lane is back with her new album BEAUTIFUL LOVE accompanied by a world class band including UK greats Tom Cawley (piano), Andy Hamill (bass), Nic France (drums), with exciting French saxophonist Robin Fincker ( Blink , Outhouse) who has now made London his home along with Australian jazz violinist Julian Ferraretto and guitarist Dave Colton. BEAUTIFUL LOVE features twelve beautifully crafted standards. Classics such as I thought about You, We’ll be together Again, Mood Indigo and Angel Eyes see Karen taking a new studio direction. “On my previous recordings Once in a Lifetime (2002) and Taste (2005) I went into the studio with very specific arrangements, on these songs I took a new approach giving myself and my musicians the freedom to interpret these classic songs. Having worked together consistently for the past few years, gave us that instinctive sense to explore them with true spontaneity” says Karen.
